How is the Surgery Performed?

There are two types of tummy tuck surgery depending on the area of interest. Full abdominoplasty takes 2-5 hours depending on the width of the operation, while partial abdominoplasty may take 1-2 hours. In both operations the abdominal skin is lifted up to the ribs and the excess fat tissue is removed. Observed weaknesses in the abdominal muscles and hernia disorders are also removed during the operation. Cracks and cellulites are removed and excess skin is removed from the body.

What is the process after the operation?

The patient may experience pain in the first few days. Drays are taken after 1-3 days in average, and sutures are taken after 1-3 weeks.

The patient stays in the hospital for 1-3 days. The results can be maintained for years by regular sports and exercise. Usually the effects continue for a long time. However the persistancy may vary depending on pregnancy, weight gain and aging. A few months of postoperative pinking may happen. The redness will disappear in time.
