Orthodontics

Orthodontics include the correcting of improperly positioned upper and lower jaws and crooked teeth, treatment existing deformities, and the prevention these problems.

Disorders of the jaws are mostly of genetic origin. In such cases, the treatment method is determined according to the age of the patient. Orthodontic methods are chosen if the patient has not completed the developmental period, and if the patient has completed their development period they are treated with orthodontics-surgical methods. Therefore, the age is very important in the choice of treatment method.

How Long Does Orthodontic Treatment Take?

An orthodontic patient needs an average of 1.5-2 years for a successful treatment. The treatment method which will be applied and the specific oral and dental structure of the patient may cause the treatment period to vary. Another factor affecting the duration is age. Treatment of adults may take slightly more time since the tooth movement of an adult person is slower.
