Implant

Implants are artificial tooth roots made of titanium, titanium compounds or valuable materials, which are placed in the jaw bone to repurpose the function and aesthetics of the missing teeth.

The process

After the patient’s comprehensive oral examination, the position of the implants is determined with the help of the panoramic or tomography image. The area of interest is numbed with local anesthesia, a nest is prepared in the bone and the implant is placed. After the implant is placed, the screws that will remain on the implant during the recovery period are fixed and the recovery period commences. The operation takes about 1 hour.

In the following weeks the implant is expected to knit with the tooth bone. The time required varies depending on the type of operation, region, age and health status of the patient. After the operation, at least 5 weeks and maximum 3 months is required for the production of permanent prosthesis. In bone deficiencies, waiting time may be prolonged for implants in new bone-created areas.

Then the measurement is taken and the planned prosthesis is made.
