Eyebrow Transplant

As a result of accident, trauma, burns, permanent makeup, chemotherapy, dermatological complications and frequent plucking from the same area, eyebrows may be partially or fully lost. For eyebrows that don’t grow within 1-2 years eyebrow transplants can be made. Eyebrow transplant is the process of planting hair follicles harvested from the patient’s back of the neck to the areas scarce in eyebrows.

Eyebrow transplant follows FUE methods. The operation takes 2-3 hours and the patient can shower 1 day after it. Planted eyebrows grow in 2-6 months. Local anesthesia is practiced so the patient doesn’t experience any pain. Desired eyebrow shape and thickness are planned by marking with a pencil before the procedure.

There can be small incrustations on the area up to one week after the operation.

However these incrustations fall quickly and doesn’t harm the patient’s daily life.

The patient should not swim, be exposed to intense sunlight, engage in indoor tanning or intense exercise within the first 2 weeks post operation. The eyebrows start to shed 15 days after the transplant and the shedding goes on for 3 months, after which point it stops. The day after the operation dressing and PRP are carried out.
